Daily summary

View income, available balance and outstanding debt together.

App lock

Protect the app with a PIN or Face ID. On first connection, Fevault saves the server certificate fingerprint in the iOS Keychain and warns you if the certificate changes.

Icons, colors and names

Add your own images, colors and names to accounts. Hide or group accounts to keep the list manageable.

Multiple currencies

View a combined total for accounts in different currencies, using exchange rates from public APIs.

Recurring templates

Save an amount, accounts and category as a template. A daily, weekly, monthly or yearly schedule helps you sort templates by the next due date; setting a schedule does not automatically record transactions.

Spending notifications

Receive daily spending summaries and budget reminders, including alerts at 80% and 100% of a limit. Notifications are calculated on your device.

Do I need my own Firefly III server?

Yes. Fevault connects to your Firefly III server. We do not provide a server for storing your financial data.

What is included in Fevault Pro?

Free: transaction entry, accounts, budgets and analytics.

Fevault Pro: multiple server profiles, unlimited custom icons and more templates in medium and large widgets. A one-time purchase through Apple, with no subscription.

The free version includes one server profile and up to 10 custom icons.

The price is shown in the app before you confirm the purchase. You can restore a previous purchase using the same Apple Account. See the Terms of Use.

Can I try Fevault without setting up a server?

Yes. Choose the demo when setting up the app to explore the summary, transactions and analytics with sample data. Connect your own Firefly III server to use your accounts.

What can I do without a server connection?

You can view previously loaded data and record new transactions. Fevault keeps new transactions in a queue for sending when it can reach your server again. Creating accounts and budgets requires a server connection.

In offline mode, edits and deletions from the transaction list are also queued. Creating accounts and budgets requires a connection. If you enabled offline mode manually, turn it off to resume syncing. Changes rejected by the server are shown in the app for you to review.

Can I record an expense directly from a widget?

Save the amount, accounts and category in a template, for example for coffee or a commute. Supported expense templates run directly from the widget. Income, transfers and templates that need more details open the app.

The Control Center button opens Summary in Fevault to add a transaction. It is available on iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 or later.

How do I move my Fevault settings to another device?

Export a backup and import it on the other device. It includes profiles, settings, templates and custom icons, but not your Firefly III database or access tokens. You will need to sign in to your server again. Set a password to encrypt the backup; without one, the file is unencrypted.

Server addresses are included, but access tokens and OAuth secrets are excluded even from encrypted backups. Password protection uses AES-GCM. Store the backup securely. Back up your Firefly III database separately on the server.

How is my data handled?

Connection secrets and the saved server certificate fingerprint are kept in the iOS Keychain. Your finance data remains on your Firefly III server and on your device. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
